Burger King Taste Test

Just found out about this lately and they had a specfic website that was seperate from all other. I am not sure if there were many people who actually knew about this but it is pretty crazy.

I wonder if they stopped taping people if they said they liked the Big Mac better.

Film Reel Review: Four Christmases

Now that Christmas is coming up really really really fast these day......only one month away......I am looking forward to seeing some new Christas movies. The trailer for it looks extremely funny. I have always like Vince Vaugn and this one should be no different.

So if you want to go see it give me a shout....except not this weekend.....or the next.......maybe not the one after that either. Way toooooo busy.

Wacky Website: Monty Python Channel

So the the Monty Python corporation has put all of their videos plus more on a specialized channel on YouTube. It is actually kind of neat that they are willing to put all their vids in good quality on there. There are many on there right now which is good plus they are really funny. Just check out the promo video that is one there.

New Music: It's a New Day

Witha ll the hype around Barack, here is a bit more. We all know how much I like politics and here is another song of Will.I.Am supporting the election that just happened. It is pretty catchy as well.

Tell me what you think of it......

Sporting Goods: Insane Loss by the Raps

Just have to say that the loss tonight was unbelievable and I think it was Carter's way of saying that he hates TO now. He absolutely killed the last quarter and the overtime quarter. I am so upset. I might write a very mean letter to Carter's people this weekend. If I don't, I will make sure to say some mean words when I am alone.

Green Planet: Hydro-electric Power

I hope that most of us know that Ontario and Canada is one of the largest producers in the world of Hydro Electric power. With this, we have a great responsibility to continue building on this success within this area. I am glad to hear that Ontario Power is building new projects that are a giving greener future for our country. For example , they are building a Niagara Tunnel system that will power 160,000 homes and a Lac Seul station that will produce 12.5 Megawatts. I hope that they decide to start building even more if it is possible or start venturing into other forms of green energy such as wind very soon. The window to start is growing smaller every day.

New Music: Hot n' Cold

So I have seen the new video for Katy Perry's song called 'Hot n' Cold'. Overall it is not a very good song but also, it is a really weird video. First of all, she goes from getting married to dancing in an 80's dance group. Second. she acts like a crazy bride on cocaine. Thrid, the priest during the first part of the video is dancing like a weird person in a rave. Finally, it all ends up beign a farce and after the groom says 'I Do' everyone jumps up and yells for some reason.

Overll check it out and make comments on it like I have.

Techy News: Microsoft Live Workspace

Just noticed this on the Microsoft Canada website and it is an extremely good idea. If you have a hotmail account already, you are automatically able to use this service that is offered in the Beta stage. It is bascially just a repository or online hard drive where you can keep office documents that you want to access from other computers easier. I think it said it will hold up to 1000 documents so I think that will be enough.

As well, it is really easy to use. Take a look at the interface below.

Movie Real Reviews: Role Models

Went and saw this movie last weekend and it did not dissappoint. It may have been that I just had McDonalds and there was a funny encounter of a very drunk young teenager or that I was in the mood for something very funny. Either way I would suggest seeing it. There were some parts that were just weird such as the sword fight parts (Don't worry you will see) but overll it worked.

It think all four of the leads are extremely good actors even if 'Stiffler' plays the exact same character in every movie.

Take it from me, because I am a very reliable source, go and see it.

Green Planet: Geothermal Heating and Cooling

I have heard about this eco friendly way of heating your house over the past couple of years and have decided to find out more information on the system. Ultimately it uses the earths natural heating/cooling to create a thermal environment for your home. I think the only problem for this system is that is not as easy as other methods to install and therefore a bit more money. Here is the basic idea below.

Some clear reasons to choose:

  • Extremely efficient as it craetes up to 6 times the energy it takes to run

  • Extremely sustainable as the heat from the earth will never end

  • Expensive but the estimated pay back period is only five years

For all you engineers out there (which I know there are many) check out the specs of the system and what it uses to work properly.

New Music: Tegan and Sara and Kings of Leon

Just saw this new video by Tegan and Sara called Call it Off and I think it is a good tune. Check it out below.

Also, be sure to check out the new song called Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon. This one I am really into as well.

Iron Man was a great movie. Plain and simple. 8.5 out of 10. Any questions?

Sporting Goods: Raptors are Doing Great

The first two games of the pre-season have gone amazing for the Toronto Raptors. They won both games and Jermaine O'Neil is looking great so far. Even though he is only playing about 20 minutes a game. He is supposed to be ramping up his minutes to slowly break in his knees. really hope that everyone is healthy this year......for the entire year.

Be sure to watch the season opener which I believe is on October 29th or so.

Travel Patterns: Bus Travel Recap

As I said in an earlier post, I would tell all about the funny things that happened on the bus during my trip back to Kingston. There were four main things that happened during that time on the bus:

  1. The bus was completely full and felt like a sardine can.
  2. There were a bunch of first year girls on the bus laughing and yelling the entire length of the late running trip.
  3. A guy in the back was coughing up a lung and sounded like he some type of contagious disease.
  4. Finally, the last and most interesting thing that happened to me was the guy who was sitting beside me was trafficing weed from Kanata to Smith Falls and that is all I could smell the entire way home. The even better part is that he was transporting it in a juice pitcher.

So, please help me understand why I keep riding the bus........

Travel Patterns: Kingston Here I Come

Thanksgiving is almost here and I am heading back to Kingston to spend time with my family and take some rest. Unfortunatly there will not be too much rest done because I have 3 BIG midterm exams next week. I am sure that they will go well.

The only funny thing about all this is that I will be taking the Greyhound to Kingston as usual. I always seem to have funny instances happen to me on the bus so we will see what happens this time.

I will update the blog if anything good happens on my travels.......

Holiday Season is Upon Us: Sony A200K DSLR

I know that this will be my only present for sure if I end up getting this gift but it is definitly the only thing I want this year. It is a Digital SLR camera made by Sony and overall I heard it is one of the best starting SLR's on the market. The one thing I really like about it is that it has the digital stabilizer in the camera rather than the lens as in other models from other companies.

I really can't wait to get it and start practicing because I am going to be the official photographer at my sister's wedding. Should be an interesting time.

Good Eats: Shawarma Palace

I hope that everyone that lives in ottawa has heard of Shawarma Palace but if you have't it is a crying shame. I guess I am lucky that I live about two minutes away but for everyone else, it is surely worth the drive/wait. I have had other shawarma platter/sandwiches in Ottawa and it is by far the best. They always give you huge portions of everything and it all tastes amazing.

I love shawarmas.....until the next one I can only rememeber the taste.

Political Party: Sarah Palin is Pretty Much an Idiot

All I am saying is please watch this greatest hits reel of who the Vice President of the United States could be. I am pretty much scared if she is power the next time I make a visit. She might make me do research on the type of newspapers she reads or who this Putin character actually is.

Hope you have as good of a laugh as I did.

Green Planet: Tesla Motors Electric Car

So I watched the documentary named "Who Killed the Electric Car?" this weekend and spurred me on to look further into new cars that are out there. Tesla Motors is actually a company that was started by the founder of PayPal with his own money. This car is an amazing sports car that is only driven by electricity. Even though it is over $100,000 it is a great car that has great mileage and even better speed.

I suggest you take a look at it because they already have a waiting list and they are looking into a bright future in the technology of cars.

Techy News: IE 8 Beta Released

This is a bit late but I thought that I would say it anyway. IE 8 Beta has been released for a while now and it is supposed to be really cool. I think I might download it soon on my computer to see how it works. I suggest that you do the same.

Check out the website below for the IE 8 blog.

Crazy Vids: Guitar Hero Freak of Nature

So I know that there has been a lot of kids like this who can play the Guitar Hero game jsut as good as this kid but it is still amazing. I am still having trouble with the end of Medium levels and this kid could play it on expert in his sleep. I hope that his parents feed him alot of Cheerios because he might have a heart attack soon.

Just saying........

Mega Keg Performance: Matthew Good

This was one of the best shows that I have ever been to. They were great performers live and their music is always amazing. These are two of their better songs.

I also posted some of the pictures I took of them at the show.

Mega Keg Weekend Pictures

Just got back late last night after a very long weekend of complete and utter fun. This was an amazing weekend and Molson did not dissapoint one little bit. Check out some fo the pictures from the weekend.

Keep in mind that we took a two hour ferry ride full of drinks before the actually party that started at 3PM. I think this was actually the most I have ever had in one night EVER.
These are the best photos. Stay tuned for great videos of the performance from Matthew Good.

MEGA KEG COMING SOON: One Week To Go

This is really starting to get exciting. The mege keg party that I won is almost here and I am trying to look online for more information. Just came across this on YouTube and it is a great spot for the mega keg party promotion.

I will be THERE in about one week. More posts to come including after party pictures......

Political Party: Who to Choose?

So the new election is coming up and I have no idea who I want to vote for yet. I have been strongly a one party kind of guy in the past but things have changed. The politicians have not been speaking to anything that I feel is important and the things that are fairly related have way off base of what they should do. It seems like they all want to just say blanket empty statements and not tell us what they will actually do.

Right now, they are all bashing each other which makes for very bad political situations. I really do not think Harper has done that bad of a job but he still scares me when he calls elections like this to try and get a majority even though the house of commons was still working well.

I think the three biggest problems that need to be addressed right now is the economy, the environment and how to bring Canada to the international level that it should be.

Please tell me who to vote for because right now it is a juggling act between these 5 candidates.

Green Planet: Solar Energy for the Home

I am starting to become fairly big on becoming renewable as you may notice and I love the idea of powering your home from things in your backyard. Solar energy has been around for a long time but I think in the next few years the cost of these products are greatly going to decrease. The technology and the amount of people testing out these products are making it more viable for the rest of the masses.

I can't wait until I buy my first home and think about actually installing one. I hear it is harder to get the amount of sun needed since we are in Canada but that you can still get quite a bit for what you pay for.

Look for more intersting Green Ideas in the future.

Isn't there an election coming up? Maybe Green Party will win with all my new posts.

Green Planet: 2007 Chevorlet Volt

I just want to say that who says we can't make a difference on the planet, even the big companies. I saw this car at the Toronto Auto Show last year and I thought I should blog about it. This is not a concept car but rather it is a car that will be released I think by 2010. It is completely an electric vehicle with lots of power running behind it.

I think this is a great way to start the green movement although I think more research needs to be put into other renewable resources for cars. We are still using a lot of energy as consumers and we need to change that mentality.

Other than that, I think this car looks amazing. If you disagree please tell me......

Funny News: Cheech and Chong - Smoke it Up Tour

My dad and I are going to see these guys tonight in Ottawa. I hope that you have heard of them but if you have not you have been living under a rock.

They made some hilarious movies back in the day and they even did stand up earlier. They have now come back from hiding and are starting up in a new tour.

I have attached a couple of pictures and the trailer to one of their movies to help you get pumped about them.

Film Real Review: Death Race

This movie did not dissapoint on the blood, guts and gore that you expected from the previews on TV. Overall the storyline was kind of dull but what do you expect when you have that type of movie.

Overall...good movie and about a 6.6 out of 10.

Film Real Review: Batman Begins

I finally watched Batman Begins this afternoon and it was an amazing movie. I actually can't wait until I see Batman Dark Knight even more now.

The movie depicting how Batman came to be was really engaging and it kept me on my seat. The only thing that I was upset about was that there was not a 'villian' in paticular such as Penguin.

HUGE PARTY: Molson Canadian Mega Keg Weekend

Last night was extra crazy especially when I won two passes to the Molson Canadian Mega Keg party. There is supposed to be a lot of beer, bands, food, games etc etc etc etc. Have not found out all the details yet but it should be a crazy weekend.

Sporting Goods: Started Playing Squash Again

Finally, I have someone in Ottawa again that loves playing squash as much as I do. If you have never played the sport I really recommend that you do.

Squash is a game of strategy and intense cardio for the avid racket sport player. I would have to say it is my favourite racket sport out of all of them inlcuding tennis and badminton.

Find the link below for the World Squash Organization official rules and regulations. The video that is posted is the 2006 Canadian Men's Finals.

Wacky Websites: Newgrounds

This site has some pretty fun items all over it. It has videos, games etc etc. But the great thing is that I think it is mostly user generated and that people make these games. Try some of them out because they can get mighty addictive. My favourite ones to play are defence games for some reason.

Have hours upon hours of useless fun!!! Check out the link below:

Songs for the Soul: Barack Obama Music Video - YES WE CAN

This is an amazing video for hope and courage that a bunch of celebrities made with one of Barack Obama's speeches. I think he is an amazing speaker and he can really command an audience.

I hope that one day there will be a charasmatic hopeful in Canadian politics that will once again bring young people to start voting. We may need someone like this again in the future.

PS. Listen to the words of the speech/song because they are really good.

Petting It Out: Bandita Arrives

Chelsey and I have officially received our new kitten this weekend and she has to be one of the cutest cats I have ever met. She constantly purrs and she really seems to be getting used to us (and the toys). Take a peak at just some of the mountains of pictures that we have taken of Bandita so far. At the end is a sneak peak video.

Songs for the Soul: If That's Not Love

So I heard this song after my sister in-law made a video at the cottage and used it. For some reason I can't get it out of my head and it is driving me crazy.

It is a bunch of young kids but it could Britney Spears depending on what day of the week she is singing.

Hopefully you find it as intersting as I do.

Sporting Goods: Usain Bolt the New Fastest Man Alive

Another amazing win by another Olympic athlete, Usain bolt of Jamaica. He shattered the record of Donovan Bailey and set a new world record. He didn't even race the entire time. The last 20 metres he stopped running which is insane.

I can't wait to see this guy run in the next Olympics and shatter his own record.

Aug 15, 2008

Sporting Goods: Michael Phelps is a Swimming GOD

Michael Phelps is probably the most amazing athlete I have seen in a long time. He is crazy fast in the pool and not only winning gold medals but also breaking world records every time.

I think someone should definitly screen this guy for some roids becuase they need to prove he isn't doing them for sure. I hope that he breaks the one Olypmpic record of 7 golds because there may not be many more people in the future that can do it.

Techy News: Microsoft Surface Tables

I know this is acutally fairly old news but I bet companies are going to start using them very soon. It is amazing how cool these are. Check them out. The only thing I have to say is that I can't wait for them to come out in the retail space and you can start using them when you are watching TV and such as your coffee table.

This should be a really fun next few years for computers that is for sure.

VLOG: Chirs Bosh Leaving for China

I just came across this on You Tube and Chris Bosh is talking about leaving for Chine the next day and playing Canada in their first game. Unfortunatly, this is the game where Canada lost.

I was so amazed when I noticed how many videos that Boss does of himself. He always ends up repeating himself 20 times in the videos too.

Sporting Goods: Canada is a Farce

I know I haven;t posted in a long time but I was away on vacation and loving every minute of it. Other than that I have been watching the Beijing Olympics and have been utterly disappointed. Canada is performing worse than a 6 year old girl playing in an NFL pre-season game.

Needless to say, Canada needs some type of reform with sports becuase we always seem to get EMBARRASSED at the summer games. One swimmer for the US will most likely beat all of Canada combined together.

Other than that, all the hype before the games was kind of weird. They really don't talk about it anymore and definitly will stop talking about it once the games are over.

Anyways, here is to our first top ten finish.......

Jul 29, 2008

Television Tango: Big Brother 10

So that new season of Big Brother started a few weeks ago and so far it has not disappointed. There are some pretty good characters going and some great backstabbing. I am still not sure who I like that most but I will keep everyone updated when I figure it out. The one thing I do know is that I hate the girl above. I am pretty sure she can't add.

Tonight is the Power of Veto (POV) competition and I hope that no one wins it so that the two nominees stay on the block.

The real question is.....when are they going to actually give out $2million to the winner because right now the money is ridiculous. I think it is only $250,000. Come on, they make that from one ad campaign because there are no other new shows on during the summer.

Petting It Out: New Kitten in a Month

Chelsey and I will be getting a new edition to the family in a month. It is a new calico kitten that is kind of ugly but so cute at the same time.

The picture above is the two cats that we were deciding between but we decided on the one on the left. The kitten's name will be Bandita or Bandit for short.

I can't wait to get it. I have never had a cat before but pretty sure it will be alright.

Songs for the Soul: Bob Marley

I have been listening to my Bob Marley CD, thats right I said CD, all week now and I almost forgot how good of an artist he was. Not only are all his songs catchy but they are speak to the hardships, corruption and poverty experienced from his people.

When I visited Kingston, Jamaica a fwe years ago to help out in an elementary school it was an amazing experience. His songs always bring me back to that time and I hope to be able to go back sometime.

I have included one of his songs from You Tube to get you pumped up to listening to the rest of his albums.

As they say in Jamaica......Irie Man.

Sporting Goods: Blue Jays on a Streak

Just finished watching the Blue Jays finish up another win agains t the Seattle Mariners. They are now on a 5 game winning steak and have one of the best records in baseball for the month of July. They have finally had some key hitting from the young guys and great pitching from the new players in the rotation.

In a previous post I said that I hope Cito Gaston will be able to turn the team around and he is slowly but surely making it happen.

They are now 8 games back (roughly) from the top and even if they dont make it to the playoffs I really hope that they make a good run for the rest of the seaon. There is nothing worse then playing a terrible season and then having to ponder over it for the next few months.

Please keep playing well........

PS. By the way, I just want to point out that my boy Alexi Rios hit two home runs in this ball game.

Wacky Websites: My Mini City

Not sure why I am so obsessed with this website but for some reason it is crazy addictive. The site is ultimatly a Sim City and you ping your city which results in more population, industry etc. etc....The name of the city I built is called Sheep Man Land and it is pretty nice. It is slowly rising in the Canada rankings as the largest city.
Please check it out daily because you can only add something once every day.
Here is the link to add more population: http://sheep-manland.myminicity.com/

Film Real Trailer: Batman.....The Dark Knight

I am getting really excited to see this movie. I am not sure if it is getting too hyped up because of the death of Heath Ledger but if you have seen the trailer they have made it look amazing. I have a feeling I will be truly scared during the entire movie because of how well the Joker is being played.

By the way, I have not even seen the last 3 Batman movies which should show you how much I am looking forward to seeing this paticular one.

So the real question is.....Who wants to go and see the movie with me???Probably not this weekend though because it will be crazy busy for the opening.

Tech News: LG 42" Plasma Television

Saturday morning was a great day where my girlfriend and I just bought our first big screen TV. We just purchased an LG 42" Plasms HDTV and I am really excited to set it up in our place. We also got a special package for the HD channels so I am looking forward to watching the Blue Jay's win the BIG SHOW!!!

Funny News: Charlie Bit My Finger!!

So I was shown this a while ago and it is pretty good. Just another one of those YouTube videos that have made it famous because of hilarious home videos.

CHARLIE BIT MY FINGER!!! You will get it as soon as you watch the video.

Songs for the Soul: Tegan and Sara - Walking with a Ghost

So I have been really into this song for a while and it is still not getting old. I figured I should probably post this video to introduce you to Tegan and Sara if you have never heard of them.

Try downlaoding some of their other stuff. They have a ton of songs and a ton of records that they have produced.

Jul 5, 2008

Tech News: Wii Fit

My girlfriend and I have been playing on the Wii Fit for over a month now since it just came out and I have to say that it is much better than you think. These people above are about as happy as you get when you start playing. There are so many different games to play on it and the sensor board is really well made. I have not seen any glitches yet with the sensors or the software.
I really recommend going out and trying to find one because they are a great way to hang out with friends and family.
PS. There is even a game for snowboarding and ski jumping which are my favourites.

Jul 3, 2008

Film Real Review: War Games

I watched this movie on Tuesday morning on the AMC movie network and I was pleasantly surprised. I am not sure if it was because there was nothing else on or I have a weird liking for Matthew Broderick's acting (only when he was younger for some reason). The premise was really quite realistic even though it was about 20 years earlier.
Anyways, if you feel like watching a classic movie with some pretty good acting, try to pick it up on basic television.

Television Tango: The Office Gets Renewed

I caught wind of the extension for three more years on the net. This is very exciting for any Office fans because I think the jokes are getting funnier and the scenes are getting more witty. I hope that everyone else will start watching the show if they haven't already.
